These supplies will be decided month to month based on the requirements received by the group and taking into consideration seasonal factors and severity of need.
  • Providing education to the deserving is another activity which Njiyo intends to take up. But before taking it on, the group is preparing themselves so that they are equipped with the necessary training and infrastructure to be able to serve effectively. While working on acquiring these skills, they intend to help out in activities like providing books, toys and need-based one on one trainings as per the need.

Rice and Sanitary Napkin donation drive

This was the first donation drive taken up by NJiyo. With the help of contributions from residents of Nyati Meadows, Wadgaonsheri Pune NJiyo decided to start their activities by donating these essential items. They managed to donate 120 kgs of rice and 115 packets of sanitary pads to Maher Ashram,  Wadgaonsheri, Pune. An initial but a very successful starting for team NJiyo.

Blankets donation drive

With the winters starting, there are many homeless who have to suffer these harsh climatic conditions. Keeping this in mind team NJiyo decided to collect and distribute blankets among the needy. Blankets and bedsheets collected here got distributed on 26th November near Sassoon hospital, Pune station and bus stand and Kalyani Nagar.

Nutritious food donation drive

Winters are the season when special nutrition is needed. With this in mind and considering the wishlist provided by the BSSK, Koregaon Park, Team Njiyo decided to distribute rajgira laddoos and farsan. They successfully distributed 600 pcs of Rajgira laddoos and 20 kgs of farsan to the underprivileged kids in Vishrantwadi area through BSSK.

With these initial successful baby steps, NJiyo is hopeful to achieve and surpass all that they aim for and help to bring a smile to those they touch.

Wonderful initiative. I just have some thoughts to share about the distribution of sanitary napkins. I just thought you guys could promote sustainable menstruation methods instead of sanitary napkins like spreading awareness of use of menstrual cups which are getting very popular in India. This will prove hygienic and cost effective of course coming with its benefits of reducing pollution.
