I am not a tea or a coffee drinker and till a couple of years ago would just have breakfast around half an hour to an hour after getting up. This depended on how the day started. Sometimes would have a couple of glasses of water between this time.

What made me change this schedule was having a chronic cough, cold and headaches which didn’t seem to go completely no matter what I did. Consulted with my favorite naturopath, my mom and brought about a change in my morning routine (along with many other things too).

New routine
– Get up and freshen up.
– One glass of warm water or at room temperature if no time – school days :).
– I prepare 2 other drinks simultaneously while doing other kitchen work
a. Warm water with honey and a 3 spice powder (cinnamon, ginger powder and turmeric)
b. Green tea

I have the 3 spice water first before eating anything.
Post this I have breakfast which normally is egg and paratha. Sometimes cornflakes, poha or aloo paratha etc
The green tea I fill in a thermos and keep sipping on it till noon.This has helped me a lot in terms of reducing and controlling the cold, cough as well as headaches..the added benefit is that its helping me with my weight control too 😉
