In India, many of us would have heard our parents or grandparents tell us that when they fell sick their elders would make some “Kadha (magic potion)” and that provided relief. Many of us would have been given this home remedy too and experienced the benefits of “Kadha” for some or the other ailment.

For those of you wondering what exactly this Kadha is, it is nothing but a combination of herbs and kitchen ingredients, boiled in water for a specific time. This water is a great home remedy used to provide relief against different diseases/ ailments depending on the ingredients used.

Today I shall share the recipe of one such potion which was used at my mom’s place and now at mine and is a great home remedy for cold or cough.

Ingredients for the home remedy for cold or cough

2 glasses of water

1 small stick cinnamon
1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
5 -6 tulsi leaves
