A few months ago I was filling the school admission form for my elder daughter. While doing that there was one question that I didn’t have an answer to. That question was “Name & contact details of your family physician”. While thinking about what to fill in, I realized that in spite of being in the same city – for the past 8 years, we had not visited a doctor a single time. We have been to a dentist, once an ENT for the hubby, had been to pediatrician for vaccines and kids but nothing other than that.

One of the reasons for not knowing or visiting a regular doc was that we had a few general medicines for cough and cold, tummy upset, vitamins etc in the medicine cabinet which we used once in a while. But the main reason is that we believe a lot on using home remedies/naturopathy for most of the common problems. In fact even with my daughter who is almost 3 yrs old now it’s been home remedies 80 to 90% of the times (luckily our pediatrician too is a believer) and we plan the same with the younger one as well who is 4 months old.

I come from a family using natural healing methods and many of the tips or recommended methods are already a habit or part of life for us. Thanks primarily to my mom who is practicing naturopath since the last 15 years. So unless things get really severe, our first option is to resort to healing via natural remedies. I have also done a diploma in naturopathy (alongside my regular job) which has been very helpful to understand these methods of natural healing more closely.

Over the years have been giving these tips to friends as and when they need so decided why not go ahead and put them up as well 🙂

Would be happy to hear your comments and things that you commonly use.

article… but what can I say… I put things off a lot and don’t manage to get anything done.
