    Flintobox review

Recently I went for big Z, my older daughter’s eye checkup since myopia is in our genes. I had taken little Z with me too. Since we were waiting our turn for a long time the kids had got restless. As soon as we were called in by the doctor, my immediate reaction to keeping my younger one silent was giving her my phone.  Now, as soon as I handed her the phone, the doc gave me a look and the first thing she said was – “that’s the biggest reason why the average age of kids suffering from problems with the eye are increasing”.

I always believed that I was restraining device for kids since they would get their devices only for some time over weekends, but this made me realize that there are other times like this where I would give them the gadget, impulsively, just to pacify them. Now this started bugging me and I wanted to move back to 0 gadget time. But how? – that was the big question.

I had heard about the “Flintobox” for kids that assures to keep the kids busy, with minimum parental involvement. Something that engages them at the same time teaches them new things. This was the perfect time for me to have got the box and see its effectiveness.

    Contents

I got the “Flintobox – everyday science kit” for 8 years and above since my daughter loves science and experiments. This one came with 3 different kits

    1. My Filter
    2. Mini Garden
    3. Soap lab

    Packaging

The packaging of the box is very sturdy and attractive. Each of the kits is individually packed and labeled with all the contents. Also, there are some common articles to be used in the experiments and they too are packed well.

    My review and views

Flintobox comes with a new theme every month which keeps it interesting for the kids. Also, this ensures development and learning across different focus areas. This research-based box is crafted by Montessori experts and child psychologists and caters to all developmental areas of a child.

Few things I liked most were

    1. Detailed step by step instructions. Language and words used were simple and easy to read. My daughter could very easily read the instructions and didn’t really need my help r intervention at all.
    2. There is a mat provided too to make sure the area is not messy and we just need to clean the mat
    3. Safety gear like goggles and hand gloves are provided too to make sure our kids are not harmed at all. At the same time, clear safety tips are mentioned where required
    4. Also, it is clearly mentioned if patent intervention would be needed in certain steps

    Flintobox review

My daughter loved the science kit, especially since very inquisitive and loves to even read about science-related topics. It generated so much more curiosity within her and her questions have become more pointed too on the subject. And the best part is she didn’t remember wanting to watch her cartoon on TV. At the same time, I hardly heard the words “mummy mummy” since I went through the instructions on the kit with her before she started.

One suggestion I had was to improve the gifting option where the billing and shipping address could be different.

    Final verdict

Overall very happy with the concept and the areas covered and would definitely recommend it to all moms who are looking for an overall development for their children and want to make sure they are not addicted only to the digital world
